1. Role Summary
The Systems Engineer Intern serves as the sole guardian of our internal digital infrastructure. This position combines software engineering with database architecture. The primary objective is to manage, write custom code for, and scale our unified business operating system powered by Odoo, while handling enterprise domain communications using Zoho Mail.
2. Key Responsibilities (The Job Description)
- Odoo Backend Customization: Design, configure, and code custom Odoo apps/modules using Python to fit our precise business processes.
- Database Management: Oversee relational data schemas, write efficient SQL queries, and secure records within the Odoo database ecosystem.
- Zoho Mail Maintenance: Administer email domain mapping, MX records, user aliases, secure permissions, and general mailbox routing rules.
- API Integration: Map, build, and test connection points (REST APIs and Webhooks) to feed external platform data right into Odoo apps.
- Infrastructure Monitoring: Keep track of performance metrics to ensure system scaling and eliminate down-time for our operational teams.
3. Qualifications & Technical Competencies (The Job Specifications)
- Core Language: Strong foundational mastery of Python (Odoo's native ecosystem) and basic JavaScript/HTML templates.
- Data Layer Logic: Clear knowledge of SQL, object relational mapping (ORM), and structured database schemas.
- Integration Protocols: Complete comfort handling data transfers using JSON arrays and calling external web endpoints.
- Basic Networking: Foundational knowledge of domain name configurations (DNS settings, SPF, and DKIM) required to run email servers securely.
- Target Profile: Students or fresh graduates completing a technical path (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering) with strong workflow mapping skills.
